MATCH REPORTS - WINTER 2011 / 12

11 December 2011: Wiltshire Cross Country Championship

The U13 boys event was contested by Elliot Lassiter, Euan Reid, James Richardson, and Oliver Stevenson. Elliot was highest placed finishing 3rd for Wiltshire with Euan close behind.

The U15 girls was a very competitive event with Gemma Shepherd, Lindsay Reid and Amy Cooper all putting in good performances, and Sophie Reid representing MADJA in the U17 girls.

6 November 2011: Oxford Mail XC League - Round 1

MADJA cross country athletes had an excellent start to the season with the U13 boys team placed second in the first round of the Oxford Mail League, in which 12 clubs fielded teams from Oxfordshire and the surrounding counties.

Elliot Lassiter, James Richardson, Euan Reid and Oliver Stevenson all put in a great effort and were only beaten by the team from Swindon Harriers.

Emma Sykes was our only U11 girl and ran a good 1st race to finish in the middle of a huge field of 61 competitors.

8 January 2012: South West Cross Country Championship

MADJA athletes represented Wiltshire at the South West Cross Country Championship held at Bicton Park.

Wiltshire’s U15 girls team won their event helped by a great performance by both Amy Cooper (3rd) and Gemma Shepherd (4th), furthermore Euan Reid and Elliot Lassiter ran well as part of Wiltshire’s U13 boys team .

21 Jan 2012: MADJA Athletes at Wiltshire Schools Championships

12 MADJA athletes took part in the Wiltshire schools cross country championships on Saturday 21st January at Grittleton House. All had been selected to run for their schools at their respective area trials.

Gemma Sheperd had an impressive win in the Junior Girls event and will go on to represent her county. James Green 8th Senior Boys, Rachel Sykes 6th Senior Girls, Elliot Lassiter 15th Minor Boys, Jacob Smith 14th Minor Boys and Maddy Sheperd 8th Minor Girls will all now be considered for selection for the Wiltshire schools county team.

Luke Shields (JB), Euan Reid (JB), Moira Connor (JG), James Richardson (MB), Greg Rogan-Rea (MB) and Harriet Hanscomb-Davies (MG) also ran well on a tough course.
